Dakota Midland Grain has an exciting opportunity at its Voltaire location. We are looking for a Grain Location Manager for the facility that handles several million bushels annually. You must be self-motivated, hard working, have good time management & organizational skills, able to make decisions, work independently, and have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be customer focused.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the elevator operation according to company objectives to provide patrons with prompt, courteous and effective service while maintaining the efficiency necessary to achieve a maximum margin of profit.
- Enforce safety rules and policies, perform all safety investigations/audits with the safety director. Maintain proper safety and housekeeping documentation.
- Oversee the accurate weighing, grading and quality control to include mixing, blending and moving grain, with the understanding of multiple different commodities handled.
- Monitor stored grain condition, ensure proper bin storage, maintaining and conditioning inbound grain to ensure marketable grades.
- Load 110 car trains in under specified time periods while meeting required grade factors.
- Responsible for repairs, maintenance and housekeeping of the plant, with the assistance of maintenance personnel.
- Maintain an accurate measure up and knowledge of inventory grades/quality.
- Communicate with general manager, assistant general manager, grain manager, and safety director in effective manner.
- Act as a working supervisor, leading by example, providing general work direction and fostering communication and a strong customer service mentality.
- Monitor the work of all employees to correct deficient performance and effectively reward and develop all employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Work extended hours as needed to meet business needs.
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
- Seven (7) years plus of combined production agriculture and/or elevator management experience.
- Supervisory experience or prior leadership experience with progressively advancing level of leadership responsibilities.
- Ability to work outdoors in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures.
